Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.
APPLICATION DEADLINE HAS PASSED FOR THE 2022 YOUTH TOUR
PLEASE CHECK BACK IN NOVEMBER 2022 FOR THE 2023 TRIP APPLICATION
Each June, thousands of students, the children of cooperative members, gather in Washington, D.C. for the Youth Tour. This week is filled with education, history, fun, and friendships. This trip affords these high school youths opportunities to learn firsthand what it is like to be involved in politics, community development, and today's social issues. Highlights include meeting with their elected representatives in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate to discuss the process of government and issues of the day, and increasing their knowledge of cooperative electric utilities and American history.
One lucky Lincoln Electric student† will again be a part of this incredible journey - free of charge*. The selected student will join with other Montana cooperative representatives in Great Falls to begin their journey. From there, it's a flight to Washington, D.C. and jam-packed days of historical landmarks, food, visits with Montana elected representatives, and the chance to get to know fellow students.
As part of Lincoln Electric's cooperative principles, we believe in the education of our members - including our future members. Youth Tour is just another way we can help the youth in our communities have new opportunities to learn and grow.
*LEC's Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. trip begins in Great Falls, Montana. The sponsored student and/or their parent/legal guardian will be responsible for their transportation to and from Great Falls.
†Certain eligibility requirements apply; please see the application.
