Journeyman Lineman
The journeyman lineman Completes the construction, conversion, relocation and maintenance of the electrical lines and stations throughout the area served by the Cooperative.
- Performs construction, conversion, relocation, maintenance and service work on energized or de-energized lines and stations throughout the area served by the Cooperative.
- Gains and maintains a thorough knowledge of the description of units, specifications and drawings for line construction of transmission and distribution voltages presently in use or proposed to be used on the system.
- Gains and maintains a thorough knowledge of the transmission and distribution system in the area served by the cooperative, such as location of lines, voltages, sources of power, direction of feeds, location of fuses, breakers and regulators.
- Maintains and properly uses all trucks, equipment and tools assigned to him.
- Takes outage calls at any time during the day or night, assuming responsibility for restoration of power as quickly as possible on assigned outages.
- Performs the duties of a Journeyman Lineman and handles the tools of the trade in accordance with accepted safety rules, regulations and practices pertinent to the trade and effects adherence to such standards on the part of any and all subordinate personnel under his supervision.
- Handles assignments and conducts himself in such a manner as will reflect credit to the organization and contribute to an increasingly better understanding by the harmonious relations with fellow workers, members of the system and general public.
- Submits reports of accountability to his immediate supervisor for all jobs performed by him and for all materials issued to him or to his subordinates and cares for and returns to the warehouse all unused and retired materials.

Our 26 employees provide service to about 5,400 members with more than 6,800 meters on 1,022 miles of power line in portions of Lincoln and Flathead Counties. Lincoln Electric Cooperative is a rapidly growing cooperative serving almost 7,000 meters and over 1000 miles of line in beautiful northwest Montana. Eureka is located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains with abundant outdoor recreation opportunities.
